I listened to IDAC International speeches(Reading Association) last night.
Some are foreign professors experienced in teaching English or storytelling.
Some are our Taiwan's researchers about English teaching or reading.
One of them mentioned that "cutural schemata" is crucial and should be put in priority
than the "raw memorization" of grammar or vocabularies.
Our teaching environment has accustomed to the traditional input for so long a time,
and lacked opportunity to build up a complete image of
our own self-understaning or cutural recognition.
What is the outcome of memorizing all the details?
I thought about this less in my young ages, but it has become my acute doubt now.
Maybe Krashen is right in some certain level:
that natural input can carry out the most efficient learning.
If learning became a dull and boring thing, then who bother to play with it?
Well, making the lesson an enjoyable thing is
quite a challenge and a fascinating thing for a teacher.
We know that it is the sweetiest candy to treat the students!
